- Well - I think it looks pretty cool. They should probably match the color of it's case, and
- the color of the keyboard though... Plus, it doesn't seem to be a bad starting point in terms of it's
- overall package - even when weighed against what is available on other platforms today.
-
- Sure, it may have a less horsepower - but think what you can do on that limited ammount of Ram,
- and hard-disk. It's been my experience that to run comfortably under Windows 95 you really need
- a Pentium, and about 12MB Ram, 8 just doesn't cut it once you start loading up applications.
-
- If they bundle the Walker with the Magic Pack, It could be a very nice machine for the
- "Home" office. You've got excelent wordprocessing, spreadsheet, and database capabilites - not
- to mention the personal organizer. We haven't even touched on the paint software - Photogenics
- SE, and Personal Paint - both are great packages = to software that costs in excess of $350 on a
- PC! Plus, you get Scala.. Need I say more.
-
- So, out of the box, this machine is a lot more effective (Gods forfend if they package the
- Surfer software with it) than most PCs and Macs currently available- the key here is "Out of the
- Box". Keep in mind that Photoshop, Director, MS Office, etc. are not sold with every system.
- They are fairly expensive pieces of software. Yes, I know there are package deals - but none of
- the "$1000" PC Pentiums are coming with that strong a software set.
-
- Kudos to AT - they have been working! :)
